Now the some stories:in 2012 during a rain storm, i slid out while trying to make a left turn.  this resulted in the tachometer being knocked off and the handlebars being bent.  after taking to the local yamaha motorcycle garage, i received a quote for over $1000 in damage.  the bike was barely worth that at the time, so i got it home and searched ebay for the parts i needed.  one sweaty afternoon later, i had all the damaged parts (tachometer, handlebars, handlebar mounts, mirrors) replaced and it passed inspection.  the original odometer is on the bike. In 2014, i was turning off i-70 and went to squeeze the clutch in. The lever went soft and pulled all the way to the hand grip.  it was trailered home where i bought a new clutch cable and replaced it myself. In 2016, i wanted to keep it out of the impending weather and stored it in my work trailer.  i am horrible at undoing ratchet straps and when i got one loose, the motorcycle dropped on its left side.  it snapped the clutch lever which i replaced with a new one bought online. I was told by the previous owner that the original petcock has gone bad, but there is a supplemental petcock installed to cut fuel to the engine when necessary.  additionally, the front fork seals were replaced in the fall of 2016 for about $400. Cash only.  no trades.
